Together with two extraordinary soloists, the BigBand of the Deutsche Oper is devoting itself to the roots of jazz: there is no jazz without blues.
"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" applies to soloist China Moses. For the daughter of American jazz singer and actress Dee Dee Bridgewater, the stage is her home and she captivates the audience with her spirit. Having grown up in an African American family of artists, China Moses was raised with a musical culture that links tradition with the present. Her powerful voice brings the audience back to the roots of jazz. Her congenial partner is young rising star Konstantin Reinfeld, who recently won the Opus Klassik for his harmonica playing. New jazz-blues BigBand arrangements as well as blues classics like "St. Louis Blues" or "Sweet Georgia Brown" invite you on a journey through the history of jazz and blues.
