Chamber Music III: Spotlights

Chamber music in an unconventional atmosphere

About the performance

Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976)
Suite from DEATH IN VENICE for percussions (arr. by Benedikt Leithner)

Bohuslav Martinu (1890 – 1959)
„Les Rondes“ for trumpet, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, piano and two violins

Allan Stephenson (*1945)
Symphonette for wind nonet

Henry Purcell (1659 – 1695)
Suite from THE FAIRY QUEEN for brass ensemble (arr. by Eric Crees)

For the musicians of the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, their series of chamber-music sessions is a wish come true. Taking their inspiration from key operas on the programme, they put together concert programmes linked to works that they hold particularly dearly. They are assisted in the project not only by singers from the ensemble but also by guests from outside.
